What is 3D Modeling?

3D modeling is the process of creating digital objects in a three-dimensional space. In Blender, everything you create is made from simple geometric components.

Basic Components of a Model

  • Vertices – Individual points in space.
  • Edges – Lines connecting vertices.
  • Faces – Surfaces created between edges.

Edit Mode

To start modeling, switch to Edit Mode. This allows you to move vertices, edges and faces individually.

Common Modeling Tools

  • Extrude (E)
  • Loop Cut (Ctrl + R)
  • Inset (I)
  • Bevel (Ctrl + B)

As a student, practice creating simple objects like a table, cup, or chair. This helps build confidence in manipulating geometry.
