Understanding 3D Modeling Basics in Blender in Blender Animation Essential
What is 3D Modeling?
3D modeling is the process of creating digital objects in a three-dimensional space. In Blender, everything you create is made from simple geometric components.
Basic Components of a Model
- Vertices – Individual points in space.
- Edges – Lines connecting vertices.
- Faces – Surfaces created between edges.
Edit Mode
To start modeling, switch to Edit Mode. This allows you to move vertices, edges and faces individually.
Common Modeling Tools
- Extrude (E)
- Loop Cut (Ctrl + R)
- Inset (I)
- Bevel (Ctrl + B)
As a student, practice creating simple objects like a table, cup, or chair. This helps build confidence in manipulating geometry.
